SETBYLAYERMODE

• A system variable that controls which properties (Color, Linetype, Lineweight, etc.) are automatically forced to ByLayer when the SETBYLAYER command is run.

1. Setting the Properties

1) Type “SETBYLAYERMODE” in the Command Input Window.
2) Enter the desired value as a number. (Bit-code method.)
3) The properties automatically applied when running the SETBYLAYER command vary depending on the value set.

2. Meaning of Values (Bit Codes) Demo Video

1) 0: Specify all options manually (default).
2) 1: Automatically set Color to ByLayer.
3) 2: Automatically set Linetype to ByLayer.
4) 4: Automatically set Lineweight to ByLayer.
5) 8: Automatically set Transparency to ByLayer.
6) 16: Automatically set Material to ByLayer.

To apply multiple values at once, enter the sum of the desired values.
Example: SETBYLAYERMODE = 3 → automatically applies Color (1) + Linetype (2).
